The second clan of the Elves, the most skilled in craft and lore. The Noldor dwelt in Valinor where they learned from the Valar, and their greatest craftsman Fëanor created the Silmarils. When Morgoth stole the jewels and murdered Fëanor's father, the Noldor followed Fëanor back to Middle-earth in pursuit - committing terrible deeds along the way, including the kinslaying at Alqualondë. Their history in Middle-earth is one of heroism, tragedy, and the long consequences of Fëanor's oath.

The seven sons of Fëanor - Maedhros, Maglor, Celegorm, Caranthir, Curufin, Amrod, and Amras - bound by their father's terrible oath to recover the Silmarils at any cost. The oath drives them to ever darker deeds, including multiple kinslayings against their own kin, making them both heroes and villains of the First Age.
