When two Dementors attack them in an alleyway, Harry casts a Patronus to save them both. Mrs Figg reveals she is a Squib who has been watching Harry on Dumbledore's orders.

Chapter 2: A Peck of Owls
After hauling Dudley home, Harry receives a flurry of owls: an expulsion notice from the Ministry, a warning from Arthur Weasley, a revised decision allowing him to keep his wand, and a terse note from Sirius. Chapter 7: The Ministry of Magic

Chapter 8: The Hearing
Harry faces a full Wizengamot trial rather than a simple hearing. Dumbledore arrives unexpectedly as witness for the defence and presents Mrs Figg's testimony about the Dementor attack. Chapter 9: The Woes of Mrs Weasley

Chapter 10: Luna Lovegood

Chapter 11: The Sorting Hat's New Song

Chapter 12: Professor Umbridge

Chapter 13: Detention with Dolores
Harry serves detentions with Umbridge, who forces him to write lines with a Blood Quill that cuts the words 'I must not tell lies' into the back of his hand. Chapter 20: Hagrid's Tale

Hagrid recounts his secret mission with Madame Maxime to the giants, where they won over the Gurg Karkus before a new, hostile leader called Golgomath took power and allied with Death Eaters. Umbridge arrives at the cabin and begins questioning Hagrid whilst the trio hide under the Cloak.
