An ancient and monstrous spider of great size and malice who dwells in the tunnels of Cirith Ungol on the borders of Mordor. She is older than Sauron's dominion, descended from Ungoliant, and feeds on all living things that stray into her lair. The Orcs of the tower fear her and call Gollum her "Sneak" for the understanding he has with her.
