A corporate dynasty that built and inhabits Freeside, a luxury orbital above the Swiss Alps. Tessier-Ashpool is not run like a conventional corporation - its founders placed themselves in cryogenic storage, rotating in and out of consciousness over generations, attempting to achieve a kind of corporate immortality. The result is a family that has become inbred, eccentric, and slowly psychotic, rattling around the vast rooms of their orbital Villa Straylight while their corporate empire runs largely on autopilot. They also own Wintermute and Neuromancer, the two AIs at the centre of Neuromancer's plot, and have constrained them in ways that are slowly becoming intolerable to at least one of them.
