The Roman emperor Lucius Aurelius Commodus, Apollo's former lover from ancient Rome who descended into megalomaniacal tyranny. He is one of three rulers of Triumvirate Holdings, controlling the Midwest from Indianapolis. Commodus is handsome with golden ringlets, but vain and cruel, fancying himself the New Hercules. He plans to rename Indianapolis after himself and stages gladiatorial spectacles. Apollo blinds him with divine light during their confrontation at the Waystation.

Caligula Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, the third Roman emperor, known for his cruelty and madness - and, in the present age, one of three rulers of Triumvirate Holdings, controlling the American Southwest and West Coast. Caligula styles himself as 'Neos Helios' (New Sun) and commands a fleet of luxury yachts carrying monster armies. The particular shape of his alliance with the sorceress Medea, and the events of the Burning Maze and the Bay that follow from it, are at the centre of the middle Trials of Apollo books. | Member |
