Cohen the Barbarian The greatest barbarian hero in the history of the Disc, still active in his late eighties. Cohen has been adventuring for so long that he has become a walking contradiction: a man who should be a legend is still alive and noticeably irritated about the state of his teeth. He has sacked more cities, slain more monsters, and accumulated more treasure than any other hero - and given most of it away. He leads the Silver Horde, a gang of elderly barbarians, and their various escapades are a sustained, affectionate parody of the entire fantasy genre's conception of heroism. |
| Leader |
Boy Willie A member of Cohen's Silver Horde, distinguished by his extremely thick-soled boots designed to compensate for an unusual orthopaedic condition in which both legs are shorter than the other. Despite his advanced age, he remains an enthusiastic participant in the Horde's adventures. | Member |
Truckle the Uncivil A foul-mouthed member of Cohen's Silver Horde, once considered one of the biggest badasses in the world. He walks with sticks that have LOVE and HATE written on them. His idea of civilisation is reluctantly replacing profanity with creative euphemisms, with limited success. | Member |
Caleb the Ripper An elderly member of Cohen's Silver Horde who has killed over four hundred men with his bare hands. He is fascinated by the Agatean tradition of unarmed combat, seeing it as a professional opportunity. | Member |
Mad Hamish The oldest and most decrepit member of Cohen's Silver Horde, who fights from a wheelchair fitted with blades on its wheels. Nearly deaf and perpetually confused about the context of conversations, he compensates with ferocious determination and surprising speed. | Member |
Old Vincent An elderly member of Cohen's Silver Horde whose memory has become unreliable with age. He has a tendency to confuse the traditional order of barbarian activities, requiring frequent correction from his companions. | Member |
Ronald Saveloy A former school teacher who gave up education to become a barbarian, joining Cohen's Silver Horde as their strategist and cultural adviser. Known as 'Teach', he is a tall, stick-like man with an amiably absent-minded expression who carries scrolls and brushes in his scabbard instead of a sword. He brings knowledge of geography, languages, and civilised tactics to the Horde's endeavours. | Member |
