Deleting Your Account

How to delete your account and what happens when you do.

How to delete your account

You can delete your account from your profile settings. Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions.

You'll need to type DELETE to confirm. This is a safety measure to prevent accidental deletions.

The 30-day cooling-off period

When you request deletion, your account enters a 30-day cooling-off period. During this time:

  • Your account is still accessible - you can sign in and use the site normally
  • A notice will appear on your profile page showing when permanent deletion is scheduled
  • You can cancel the deletion at any time by clicking the cancel button on your profile

After the 30 days, your account and personal data are permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.

What gets deleted

When your account is permanently deleted, we remove:

  • Your email address and display name
  • Your reading profile (which books you've marked as read)
  • Your notification preferences and notification history
  • Your content request votes

What stays

Contributions you made to character data (appearances, relationships, etc.) remain on the site but are no longer linked to your account. This is necessary to maintain the integrity of the community database.

Content requests you submitted also remain visible but are shown without your name.
