Voting on Requests
How community votes help us decide what to add next.
How voting works
Once a request is published on the public list, anyone with an account can vote for it. Voting shows us which requests matter most to the community.
- Click the vote button on any request to add your vote
- Click again to remove your vote (unless it's your own request)
- You automatically vote for requests you send
Where to find requests
Visit the Requests page to see all public requests. You can filter by type (book, series, character, etc.) and sort by votes or date.
Your own requests and votes are tracked on your dashboard.
How votes influence prioritisation
The more votes a request has, the more likely we are to prioritise it. But votes aren't the only factor we consider.
Note: We also look at how much work is involved, what content we're currently focusing on, and whether it fits OpenFiction's scope. A request with fewer votes might be picked up sooner if it's quick to add or closely related to content we're already working on.
