The Iron Prison, the great subterranean fortress and armoury of Morgoth in the north of Middle-earth during the First Age. From this stronghold, Morgoth directed his wars against the Elves and Men of Beleriand for centuries. Angband was finally broken in the War of Wrath, when the Valar intervened to overthrow Morgoth and cast him into the Void.
