Also called Amon Sul, the Weather Hills' highest peak, located in the wilds of Eriador between the Shire and Rivendell. Once the site of a great watchtower of Arnor housing a palantir, by the late Third Age it is a lonely ruin. On Weathertop, Frodo is stabbed by the Witch-king's Morgul blade - one of the most perilous moments of his journey. The hill-top is a significant landmark for travellers crossing the wild lands.
