The North-kingdom of the Dunedain, founded by Elendil at the end of the Second Age alongside the South-kingdom of Gondor. Once a great realm encompassing much of Eriador, Arnor fractured into smaller successor states and eventually fell into ruin, its people dwindling to become the wandering Rangers of the North. Aragorn is the last chieftain of the Dunedain of Arnor and heir to its throne.
