The Dark Tower, the great fortress of Sauron in the land of Mordor. Built during the Second Age with the power of the One Ring, Barad-dur is the seat of Sauron's dominion and the centre of his military might. The tower can only be fully destroyed when the Ring itself is unmade, and it collapses into ruin at the moment of the Ring's destruction in Mount Doom.
