The process by which Roland drew the members of his ka-tet from our world into Mid-World through three magical Beach Doors on the shore of the Western Sea. The first door, labelled The Prisoner, led to heroin-addicted Eddie Dean. The second, The Lady of Shadows, opened into the mind of Odetta Holmes/Detta Walker. The third, The Pusher, led to the sociopath Jack Mort. Each door was six and a half feet tall, made of ironwood, and stood without visible support on the beach. Through these drawings, Roland assembled the ka-tet that would accompany him toward the Dark Tower.
