The monorail path along which the insane Blaine the Mono carried Roland's ka-tet from the Cradle of Lud southeast along the Path of the Beam to his termination point in Topeka. Along the route, the ka-tet passed magnificent stone statues jutting over a waterfall that gathered the force of the Beam and transformed it into electricity for Blaine's batteries. The route crossed through devastated landscapes where the world had moved on, ending in an alternate version of Kansas where civilisation had been destroyed by plague.
