A former heroin addict from New York City whom Roland drew into Mid-World through the first Beach Door, labelled The Prisoner. Eddie became one of the most vital members of Roland's ka-tet, evolving from a wise-cracking junkie into a true gunslinger. His greatest weapon was his quick wit - he defeated the insane Blaine the Mono with bad jokes when all of Roland's serious riddles failed. Eddie married Susannah Dean, and his spontaneous creation of the Tet Corporation saved the Rose from the Crimson King's forces. He was Roland's ka-mai, his ka's fool, and the twin of Cuthbert Allgood.
