The most devastating weapon in a channeller's arsenal. Balefire burns its target out of existence and also destroys the target's thread from the Pattern backwards in time - the stronger the blast, the further back the erasure extends. This means that recent actions of a balefired person are undone. Overuse of balefire during the War of the Shadow threatened the integrity of the Pattern itself, leading both sides to ban it. Those killed by balefire cannot be resurrected by the Dark One.
