A vast, harsh desert east of the Spine of the World, homeland of the Aiel. Called the Three-fold Land by its inhabitants - a punishment for ancient failure, a testing ground, and a forge for a people. The Waste is brutally hot and nearly waterless, yet the Aiel have thrived there for thousands of years. Few outsiders enter; only peddlers, gleemen, and the Tuatha'an are granted safe passage.
