An independent city-state on the Plains of Maredo, situated on an island in a lake. Its sigil is a woman's golden hand, fingers up. Far Madding is unique because a ter'angreal called the Guardian prevents channelling within the city, making it a refuge from the One Power. The city is ruled by thirteen women called the Counsels, led by the First Counsel.
