A ter'angreal used by the Seanchan to control channellers. It consists of a bracelet and necklace connected by a silvery chain. The channeller wears the necklace (becoming damane) while a woman who can at least be taught to channel wears the bracelet (the sul'dam). The a'dam creates a link giving the bracelet-wearer complete control over the other's channelling.
