The act of drawing upon and directing the One Power. Channellers weave flows of the Five Powers - Earth, Air (Wind), Fire, Water, and Spirit - into patterns that produce specific effects. Women are generally stronger in Air and Water, men in Fire and Earth, with Spirit roughly equal. Only a small fraction of people have the ability to learn, and an even smaller number have the inborn spark that will manifest whether they are trained or not. Without training, the inborn ability is fatal three times out of four.
