House Sadeas is one of the ten highprince houses of Alethkar and the primary political and military rivals of House Kholin throughout much of The Stormlight Archive. Led by Highprince Torol Sadeas, the house represents the ruthless, self-interested side of Alethi politics - Sadeas views the war on the Shattered Plains as a game of profit and power rather than a matter of honour or vengeance. His treatment of bridgemen as expendable resources directly creates the conditions that forge Bridge Four and Kaladin's rise. The rivalry between Sadeas and Dalinar Kholin is one of the central tensions of the early Stormlight books, rooted in their fundamentally different visions of what Alethkar should become.
