An ancient order of warriors and scholars on Roshar who wielded Shardblades and Shardplate and used Surgebinding to protect humanity. The Radiants were organised into ten Orders, each bonded to a type of spren and each with access to two of the ten Surges. They abandoned their oaths and weapons in the Recreance thousands of years ago, and their return in the present day is the central arc of the Stormlight Archive. Each Radiant must swear Ideals (oaths) to progress in power.
