AonDor works by drawing Aons, luminous symbols in the air, each representing a fundamental concept or force. The power of AonDor is tied to the geography around the city of Elantris; when the chasm line through Arelon changed the landscape, AonDor ceased to function and the Elantrians became cursed with bodies that could not heal or die.
