The holy war waged by the Fremen in the name of Paul Muad'Dib following his ascension to the Imperial throne in 10193. Sweeping across the known universe, the Jihad spread Muad'Dib's religion and Fremen rule to thousands of worlds, killing billions in the process. Paul foresaw the Jihad through his prescient visions and struggled against its inevitability, but the religious fervour he had unleashed among the Fremen proved impossible to contain. The Jihad fundamentally altered the political and cultural landscape of the Imperium.
