A Bene Gesserit term describing a pre-born child whose psyche has been overwhelmed and possessed by an ancestral personality. When a pregnant Bene Gesserit ingests the Water of Life, the chemical activates the fetal psychic awareness, granting the unborn child access to the conscious memories of its ancestors. If a malignant ancestral persona gains dominance over the host consciousness, taking control of mind, nervous system, and musculature, the child is declared an Abomination. The Azhar Book prescribes death for any found to be possessed, and the Bene Gesserit considered it the most evil condition within which a person could live.
