Water Rings
Object
Metallic counters representing the volume of water released by a body processed through a deathstill, manufactured in denominations ranging from fifty litres down to fractions of a drachm. Water rings served as both currency and social markers in Fremen society. A man needed water rings to marry, as they were presented to his fiancee and worn as ornaments. Only water from personal combat belonged to an individual; water from natural deaths or group combat was held in common by the tribe.
