A legendary sietch on Arrakis, declared taboo by the Fremen generations before the ecological transformation. Originally inhabited by a tribe called the Iduali, or 'water insects', who committed the worst crime in Fremen law: stealing another Fremen's water. According to legend, the sietch was assaulted and its people annihilated by an alliance of Fremen tribes. Jacurutu re-emerged in history when the blind Paul Atreides found sanctuary there as the Preacher, and when Leto II underwent his Trial of Possession within its walls.
