Fremen Sietch Customs
Concept
The social and governance practices of the Fremen within their underground cave communities. Each sietch was led by a Naib whose authority could be challenged through personal combat. Water was distributed daily under the blessing of a Sayyadina, with strict rationing enforced. Children began contributing to the community from age three, tending sietch gardens. The dead were processed through deathstills, their belongings distributed in a memorial ceremony, and their water returned to the communal basin. These customs reflected the Fremen principle that an individual's flesh was their own, but their water belonged to the tribe.
