The people who live beyond the Wall, called 'wildlings' by those south of it. They reject the authority of the Iron Throne and the laws of the Seven Kingdoms, valuing personal freedom above all else. The free folk are a diverse collection of tribes and clans, ranging from relatively civilised settlements to savage cannibals like the Thenns.
