A species of pale tree with white bark and blood-red, five-pointed leaves found throughout Westeros, particularly in the North. Many weirwoods bear carved faces, believed to have been carved by the Children of the Forest, and these heart trees serve as the focus of worship for followers of the Old Gods. Weirwoods are said to possess deep magic, and their wood never rots.
