The war of unification in which Aegon Targaryen and his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys conquered six of the seven kingdoms of Westeros using their three dragons - Balerion the Black Dread, Vhagar, and Meraxes. Aegon landed at the mouth of the Blackwater Rush and was crowned before a single battle was fought. Most kingdoms submitted after witnessing the Field of Fire, where dragonfire destroyed the combined armies of the Reach and the Westerlands. Only Dorne resisted and remained independent for nearly two centuries.
