A martial institution tied to the Faith of the Seven, by which a man is anointed with holy oils and sworn to defend the weak, uphold justice, and serve his lord. Knighthood is primarily a southern tradition, as the followers of the Old Gods in the North do not practise anointing. Northern warriors may be just as skilled but are not formally dubbed as knights.
