An island in the Bay of Ice off the northwestern coast of the North, held by House Mormont. The island is heavily forested and its people are known for their hardiness, with even their women trained to fight to defend against ironborn raiders and wildling attacks. The Mormonts are fiercely loyal bannermen of House Stark.
