Chapter 8: Campfire Politics

Chapter 11: Bloody Company

Chapter 12: Long Shadows
Logen and the group reach the vast canyon of the river Aos, its thundering waters making any crossing without a bridge impossible. Ferro opens up to Logen about her past as a Gurkish slave. They shelter in the ruins of the Emperor's winter palace, where Bayaz examines ancient carvings depicting the history of Glustrod while Jezal impresses everyone by spearing Longfoot's apple on his sword, and Ferro throws bird dung at Jezal from the parapet. Chapter 14: Fear
