One glossary for all of fiction
Browse the whole glossary in one place - there is now a single Glossary page that gathers every entry from across every universe, series and book into one searchable, A-to-Z list. Search by name, filter by category (places, objects, systems and more), and each entry shows which world it belongs to with a colour-coded dot, so you can tell two same-named entries apart at a glance.
You will find the new Glossary link in the site footer and the mobile menu. Clicking an entry still takes you to its home page within its own universe, series or book.
Spoiler-safe character aliases - a character's other names ("also known as") now have their own section on the character page, and they respect spoilers: a name that is only revealed later in the story stays hidden until you have read that far (or you can choose to reveal it). Previously these names were always shown at the top of the page.
More of the character page respects your reading progress - a character's relationships and story arc (their timeline of appearances) now follow the same spoiler-safe rules as their names. Anything that only happens in a book you have not read yet stays hidden, even on a character you have not come across in your own reading. When a whole section is hidden this way, you will see a short note explaining it is based on your reading profile, rather than a blank space.
Spoiler-safe search results and link previews - when a character page turns up in a search engine or as a shared link preview, its summary no longer gives away names a character only takes on later in the story. Previously a later-revealed name (like a secret identity) could slip into that summary, even though the page itself keeps it hidden.
Fuller edit history - a character, book or group's edit history now also lists changes to its details - aliases, occupations, chapters, members and more - not just changes to the main record.
Add standalone books to your reading profile - the reading profile could only track whole series. You can now search for and add a standalone book (one that isn't part of a series, like The Martian) and mark it read or currently reading, just like a series.
Friendlier empty sections - if you are signed in and a character section has nothing recorded yet, you will now see a simple "nothing recorded yet" note instead of being invited to sign up for an account you already have.
A nudge when you change a setting - turning in-app notifications or contributor tools on or off from your profile now shows a brief confirmation that your change was saved.
Remember (and reset) revealed sections - when you click "Show anyway" to reveal a spoiler-guarded section on a character page, that choice is now remembered across all your browser tabs and between visits, so you don't have to keep revealing the same thing. If you'd like to go back to spoiler-safe browsing, there's a new "Re-hide all" button on your profile that hides everything you've revealed in one click.
Cleaner reading view - the "Show contributor tools" switch on your profile now also hides the edit button at the top of a character page, not just the ones further down, so turning it off gives a fully clutter-free read.
Tidier character story arcs - on a character's "Story Arc", standalone books (ones not part of a series, like The Silmarillion) that belong to a world are now grouped under that world's heading instead of floating on their own, and each book now starts collapsed so you can scan a character's whole journey at a glance and open just the parts you want.
