A Rastafarian orbital colony located near Freeside, home to workers who built the orbitals and stayed, forming a community around their faith, their music, and their rejection of the corporate world below. The Zionites are among the few people in the Sprawl trilogy who have built something that is not defined by profit or power - a genuine community, poor and cramped but coherent. Their dub music, played through the colony's hull, is one of Neuromancer's most memorable images. Maelcum, Case's pilot and guide through the orbital approaches, is a Zionite.
