A wealthy trading city at the mouth of the Rain Wild River, home to the Old Trader families who hold exclusive trading rights with the Rain Wild Traders. Bingtown's economy depends on Elderling artefacts and wizardwood (for liveships). The city is torn between its Old Trader traditions, the influence of the New Traders (who want to open trade more widely), and the political pressure of the Satrap of Jamaillia.
