The Six Duchies face recurring threats from the Red Ship Raiders (Outislanders who attack the coast, Forging captives into emotionless husks), political intrigue within the court, and the ambitions of neighbouring powers. Buck is the seat of the Farseer throne at Buckkeep Castle.
