Unseen University is the Disc's premier institution of magical learning, located in Ankh-Morpork. Its wizards spend most of their time eating, arguing about university politics, and carefully avoiding actually doing any magic, on the grounds that too much of it tends to end badly. Led by Archchancellor Mustrum Ridcully, the faculty includes the Librarian (an orangutan, technically), the Bursar (who requires daily doses of dried frog pills to remain sane), and a rotating cast of Professors of Indefinite Studies, Lecturers in Recent Runes, and similar titles. The university's library contains so many magical books that it has its own gravitational field and a tendency to eat students.
